She moved to Sylvester, Georgia, at a young age was educated in the Worth County Public School System and graduate from Worth County High School in 1980.
Joycelyn worked as a cook at the Jackson’s Soul Food Kitchen until her health began to fail, and she had to retire.
Joycelyn gave her life to Christ and joined the Jesus Christ Tabernacle of Deliverance in Sylvester, Georgia. On June 13, 2007, Joycelyn was united in Holy Matrimony with Gregory Walker.
On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Joycelyn heard the Master’s call to come home from Labor to Reward at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Her parents, a brother, Anthony Hester, and a grandchild, Malik Green, have all preceded her in death.
Joycelyn leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband, Gregory Walker; her children, Angelia Green, Antonio (Shawnea) Green, Craig Clark; a grandchild she raised as one of her own children, Jayden King; sixteen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren; her sisters, Sabrena Thomas, Cassandra Fredrick, both of Thomasville, Georgia; her brothers, Keith Hester, Ronald Green, Willie (Charlene) Fredrick, all of Thomasville, Georgia, Calvin Green of Sylvester, Georgia; her mother-in-law, Freddie Mae Walker of Sumner, Georgia; her sisters-in-law, Gloria (Lamar) Brown of Tifton, Georgia, Debra Jefferson, Valerie Walker, both of Sumner, Georgia, Teresa Lewis of Albany, Georgia; her brothers-in-law, Randy Walker of Sumner, Georgia, John (Buffy) Walker of Sylvester, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
