Obituary For Ronald Ray Barnes

Devoted father, brother, uncle and friend, Ronald Ray Barnes 70, of Birmingham, AL peacefully passed on to be with the Lord on March 9, 2023.

A truly gentle and loving individual, Mr. Barnes spread his giving spirit everywhere especially in the Birmingham City Schools where he attended Hudson Elementary School, Hayes High School and matriculated on to graduate from University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a leader and pacesetter, he worked for Alabama Power and UAB for many years before retiring in 2019.

Mr. Barnes is survived by his loving daughters Amber Barnes Cooper (Lawrence) and Allison Barnes Holt (Charlton) devoted grandchildren Christian and Carson Cooper, Charlotte Rae Holt. Also left to honor his memory are his loving siblings Rosemary Goodwell and Quintus Barnes together with his former wife and dear friend, Theresa Thomas Barnes. His everlasting generous spirit, love of Jesus and family devotion will forever be missed.

Final services for Mr. Barnes will be at 11 AM on Friday, March 17th at Bushelon Funeral Home located at 800 14th St SW, Birmingham, AL.
