Ms. Betty Epps, 76, of Phenix City, AL passed on March 18, 2023 in Phenix City, AL

Funeral service 12 noon EST Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Minister Anthony Hicks, officiating. Burial to follow in Edmonds Cemetery, Phenix City, AL. Visitation is Monday, March 27, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

Betty Jean Epps was born August 22, 1946 to the late Cleveland and Roxie Epps in Phenix City, AL.

Betty devoted her life to Christ at an early age, where she was a member of Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church located in Phenix City, AL. Betty attended South Girard High School where she graduated in 1966. She was also a hard worker at Holiday Inn/ Days Inn located in Columbus, Georgia where she dedicated 48 years to the company.

Betty enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; Cleveland and Roxie Epps; one sister; Yvonne Miles (WIley); one nephew; Adrian Epps, and a devoted companion, Willie Baker.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Tammie Epps of Phenix City, AL; one son; Travis Epps of Phenix City, AL; five grandchildren, Sherkera Epps, Shakyia Epps, Alitha King, Otis Brooks all of Phenix City, AL and Tarah Epps of Columbus, GA; four great grandchildren, A’Maria, Ariane, Armani and De’Anthony Epps all of Phenix City, AL; three sisters, Hattie Floyd of Salem, AL, Peggy Benton and Phyllis Sanders both of Phenix City, AL; two uncles; Arthur Epps of Phenix City, AL and Lavonn (Willie) Epps of Dolton, IL; four nieces, Ryean Jacobs ( Jason) of Phenix City, AL, Sabrina Allen (Lenard) of Columbus, GA, Kimberly Mathes (Darrell) of Phenix City, AL and Gertheia Gales of Buford, GA; four nephews, Aldric Hicks (Tasha) of Greenville, NC, Anthony Hicks (LaKeisha) of Auburn AL, Kerry Epps and Meredith(Chatora) Benton both of Phenix City, AL; a host of great nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
