Mr. James H. Kegler passed on March 13, 2023. Funeral Service Saturday March 25, 2023 at 11:30 am in our Chapel. Viewing Friday March 24, 2023 from 1pm to 5pm. All participants are required to wear a mask while our Chapel seats 400 which allows for social distancing. Service will be live stream. Link will appear at end of his obituary the day of service. James was called to rest after a fruitful journey that enriched the lives of family, friends and many more who were thankful enough to have met him. Mr. James H Kegler was born in Columbus Ga on November 11, 1952 to the late Willis Lee Kegler Sr and Ollie Mae Demsey Kegler. He joined the army and served from March 01, 1974 - December 03, 1982. After many lovely years in Columbus Ga he moved to Atlanta Ga where he lived for the next 42 years. James was a dedicated roofer where he ended his career with Diamond Roofing. He was dedicated brother father and grandfather. He leaves behind daughters Shaune, Kesi, and Jovia Kegler, Kimberly Banks , (stepdaughters) April Love (Tramele Lewis) & Laconza (Thilbany) Banks-Copeland , Son Jamal (stepsons) Jeremy (Sharita) Banks & Jimmy (Lakesha) Satterwhite. He was a loving grandfather to Latoria, Sevon, Aliyah, Jalen, Jendeya, Eldridge, Kylie, Artavion, Jakale, Aniya, Donnavan Trameyah, Melanie, Jordyn, Harmony, Ki’yarah, Keshawnna, Jimmy, Deshaun, Kerry, Teyanna, Brianna Keyanna, Javen, Jasmine, Jamal, Tahliek and a host of great grand kids. He loved to dance, write poems and he could dress anyone under the table with his flashy style and hats. Let’s not talk about those shoes! Most of all he loved his family near and far. Survivor sister Linda (David) Weathers, and her daughters Angela Taylor, Aquila Smith and Brittni Weathers. Also a host of nephews to include Henry and Jeffrey, nieces, relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by siblings: Brothers - Robert, Joseph, Charlie, Willis Jr., Monroe Kegler and Henry Lee Dempsey Sister -Margie Davis Mother - Ollie Mae Demsey Kegler Father - Willis Lee Kegler Ex Wife - Josephine Upshaw Life long partner Virginia Banks.
