Obituary For Richard Earl "Blue" Cumby Sr

(March 31, 1940--March 18, 2023)

LARUE--Funeral services for Mr. Richard Cumby Sr, 82, will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11 am. The services will be held at Faith Temple House of Deliverance in Frankston with Rev. Larry West, eulogist. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Larue under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.

Mr. Cumby was born on March 31, 1940 to the late Howard Sr. and Emma Sowells Cumby in Henderson County and transitioned on March 18, 2023 at Christus Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler, Texas.

Mr. Cumby was a life resident of Henderson County. He attended Central High School and was a member of Union Station A.M.E. Church in Larue.

Mr. Cumby retired from Malakoff Brick Company after 40 years of service. He loved to fish and spend time fellowshipping with his family.

He was preceded in death by his spouse: Bobbie Jean Cumby; son: Fredrick Cumby; daughter: Janice Marie Cumby; granddaughter: Shakira Cumby; sisters: Georgia Mae Harmon, Janie Kelly, Catherine Cumby, Christine West; Brothers: Mack Clark Cumby and Eddie Willis Cumby.

Left to cherish his memories are sons: Richard Cumby Jr. ( Felicia Benjamin) of Frankston and Kenneth Cumby of Athens. Brothers: Willie C Cumby and Howard Jr. (Alice) Cumby both of Larue; Lewis (Baby Ruth) Cumby of Prairie Creek; sisters: Bonnie Ross of Fort Worth and Frances Pace of Larue; six grandchildren and a host of great and great great granchildren.

Public viewing will be Friday, March 24, 2023 from 2 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
