Obituary For Alexis Nicole Thomas

Ms. Alexis Nicole Thomas, 37, of Jacksonville, FL passed Saturday, March 18, 2023 in Charlotte, NC.

Funeral service will be held 12 noon EST Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Nichols Chapel A.M.E Church, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Richard Carter, officiating. Burial to follow in Green Acres Cemetery, Columbus, GA. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

Alexis Nicole Thomas was born May 12, 1985 in Columbus, GA to the union of Dexter and Mattie Thomas.

She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the College of Health and Human Sciences from Georgia Southern State University and her Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology from Troy State University.

Alexis was a Child and Youth Military Family Counselor, Life Coach and Therapist. She is the author of Shiloh, presentation of heartfelt expressions of women who have gained invaluable connections from father figures in their lives. She was a licensed mental health counselor and worked as a counselor for Duvall County Public School through Magellan Health Services.

Alexis was both outgoing and friendly. She loved God, life, traveling, motivational speaking and connecting with people. Before her untimely death, she was gearing for expansion and opening her own private practice.

Her joy was helping people, encouraging them, and working with them to improve their quality of life.

In 2004, she pledged Epsilon Xi Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. She was currently active in the Omega Zeta Zeta Graduate Chapter and she was diligent in upholding the values of sisterhood and service to the organization.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Nichols Chapel A.M.E Church. She was very active in church where she served in the choir and on the usher board.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving parents, Dexter and Mattie Thomas of Columbus, GA; one brother, Dexter T. Thomas; three uncles, Jimmy Lee (Sue) Huff of Manchester, GA, Stanley Thomas and Timothy Thomas both of Columbus, GA; two aunts, Willie Lou (Melvin) Parks of Greenville, GA and Minnie Pearl (Jimmy) Jarrett of Gay, GA; two great uncles, Sydney (Rita) Hardnett of Atlanta, GA, and Wesley (Christine) Jones of Columbus, GA; one great-great aunt, Annie Rose Mercer of McDonough, GA and a host of cousins, other relatives and devoted friends, too many loved ones to mention by name.
