Obituary For Willie Burton

Mr. Willie "T" Burton, formerly of Highway 171 N, Louisville, GA made his transition from labor to reward on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at a local nursing facility.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at the Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M.

"T" as he was lovingly known was born in Louisville, Jefferson County GA to the parentage of the late Norman Burton and Dolly Heggs Burton. He attended the Jefferson County public schools and at early age joined the Christian soldiers at the Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church where he served faithfully as long as his health would allow. He worked for many years at Louisville Fertilizer and Gin and after they closed he obtained employment at Lamb Brothers.

He was married to the late Blanche "Bloss" Gamble.

"T" is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two children: Leroy Burton and Ruthie Gamble; nine siblings: Lorene Burton, James Eugene Hilton, Dorothy Walden, Addie Wells, Eliza Preston, LeeNorman Burton, Evelyn Curry, Queen Ester Harris and Sennie Mae Brown. A vacancy will be felt in the hearts and minds of his loving daughter: Mattie (Joe Dudley) Burton, Louisville, GA; sons: Willie T. Burton, Jr, Germany, Arthur Burton and Jonas (Sarah) Gamble, Louisville, GA; one brother: Ed Willie Burton, Louisville, GA; one sister: Nancy Thompson, Louisville, GA; his grandchildren: Carsunya L. (Richard) Epting, Melissa D. Gamble, Octavious Burton, Monique Gibbons, Kateisha Gibbons, Maurice Deshawn Burton, Kaelan Burton, Kimano Burton, Dontavious Kitchens, Geronica Burton; several great-grandchildren,sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rebecca Burton, Betty Jean Burton, Anna Mae Calhoun, Melvin Brooklins, Edward Brooklins, Willie Boy Brooklins, Luke Heggs and Mark Heggs, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
