Obituary For Estelle Stewart

Estelle {Dolly} Stewart, born December 16, 1945, in Quitman, Georgia to the late Nora Lee Hill. She departed this life March 12, 2023 in Valdosta, Georgia. She was a loving mother, and friend to many.

She attended Washington Street High School in Quitman. She later moved to Valdosta and got married. Out of that union, six beautiful children were born. She was a hard working woman that went the extra mile to ensure her family was taken care of. She was employed by Lakehaven Nursing home. She worked in the dietary department for many years before her career took a different path. In 1987, she was employed by Valdosta State University until her retirement in December 2007.

Dolly was a devoted member of Crossing Jordan Baptist Church, where she served on the usher and culinary board. She was also a member of the Auxiliary team. She was always visiting the sick and helping those in need.

She is preceded in death by her mother Nora L. Hill, grandparents Josh and Rosa Hill, one son Tony Stewart, three sisters Geneva Hill, Ada Hill, and Mary N. Miles; one brother James Hill.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters Rosetta Stewart, Veronica Stewart both of Valdosta, GA; three sons Michael Stewart, Atlanta GA, Ricky Stewart, and Vernon Stewart of Valdosta, GA; eighteen grandchildren Demetrius Stewart, Martieze Stewart, Shawana Stewart, Grace Duncan {Marco, Duncan}, Antonio Eady, Anthony Eady, Niesha Eady, Antwan Smith, Michael Stewart Jr, Isabella Stewart, Shakira Stewart, Shakree Stewart, Shanell Stewart, Jamalya McDonald, Jessica Carter, Vernon Stewart Jr, Martevelous Williams, two sisters Rosetta Samuel (Atlanta, GA), Janie Hill (Miami, FL); four brothers William Hill, Clyde Hill, Dennis Hill of Quitman, GA and Alfred Hill of Valdosta, GA; two very special friends Geraldine Duncan, Marida Wolfe both of Valdosta, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 3PM-7PM.

A celebration to honor her life will be Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11AM at Crossing Jordan Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Mathis, officiating. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

To the family, I just wanna say that I'm gonna miss her so much. She kept us on our toes at US Renal care. Her favorite phrase still ring in our ears even though she's gone. "Thank God For Life" I send heartfelt condolences to the family. I pray God gather you all in his arms and comfort you at your point of bereavement. She will be missed.
