It was with deepest sorrow that Lavender’s Funeral Service announced the passing of MS. MARY ELIZABETH SPENCER, 60 of Aliceville, Alabama on Monday, March 27, 2023 at her residence.

THERE WAS NO PUBLIC VISITATION FOR MS. MARY SPENCER AT LAVENDER’S FUNERAL SERVICE.

THE HOME GOING CELEBRATION HONORING THE LIFE & LEGACY of Ms. Mary Elizabeth Spencer of Aliceville, Alabama was Saturday, April 1, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist, 4268 County Road 1 in Aliceville, Alabama. The body of Ms. Spencer was in state in the church one hour prior to the service.

INTERMENT was in Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, also in Aliceville. Reverend Marvin L. Rice Sr., Pastor of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, was The Eulogist.

FOR THE HEALTH & SAFETY OF EVERYONE MASKS WERE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Individuals who are immune compromised, elderly, at high risk for severe illness, or currently ill were encouraged to remain at home.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Mary; death is such an ugly enemy that robs us of times with our loved ones. I would like to comfort the family with a scripture found at Acts 24:15, which reads: "There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous". What is this scripture saying? One day soon, all of our loved ones who have died will rise from the grave and be resurrected, no matter if they practiced good or bad. Yes, you will see Mary again!
