SSG John McArthur Singleton, was born July 8, 1944, in Keysville, Georgia. He departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 8, 2023, in Augusta Ga.

John gave his life to the Lord at an early age. He served proudly as Deacon and Member of Walker Grove Baptist Church. Those that knew him well, knew that he would let out a song at any moment spreading his joy and love for the Lord.

John was educated in Keysville at Boggs Academy. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army and served twenty-two years. He proudly retired as an Army Vietnam Veteran. He spent several years of his career and retired from the V.A. hospital after twenty plus years of service.

He was a loving father, brother, uncle and was devoted to his family and friends. His strong will coupled with his sense of humor has put a smile on the face of many people. He loved spending time with his family and bringing those he cared about together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin T. Singleton Sr. (Lillian); siblings, Alvin T. Singleton Jr. (Betty), Wilbur A. Singleton (Hattie), Vivian M. Smith (Floyd), Harold S. Singleton Sr. (Lunda) and daughter, Helena K. Singleton.

He leaves to cherish his memory with his son, Alvin Singleton (Regina); three grandchildren, Allen Singleton, Adam Singleton, and Gianna Singleton; brother, David L. Singleton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

A celebration of life will be 11:00 AM, Saturday April 15, 2023, in Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Walker Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
