Earl Lamont Batte was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was the oldest son to Sharon Rideout and the late Earl A. Batte. He was reared by his grandparents, the late James “Pappy” Batte, Sr. and the late Ruth Batte of Steelton, Pennsylvania.
“E” or “EB” as he was affectionately known by family and friends graduated from Steelton Highspire High School where he played on the football team. He was always good with his hands which led him to a working career in construction. He was also a licensed forklift driver.
In his leisure, Earl enjoyed listening to music, singing, dancing, watching movies and cheering on the Rollers and his favorite football team the Miami Dolphins.
He was a firm believer in Allah. On Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the age of 51 years, 9 months and 15 days, Earl L. Batte gained his heavenly wings in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
He leaves to cherish his legacy, his children: three daughters, Sharay Porter, Sha’Quala “Tinky” Batte and Kylie Batte; three sons, Andre “Wookie” Batte, Jaydon Batte and D’Quan Malseed; his mother, Sharon Rideout; his grandchildren, Ne’Sani “NuNu” Alsbrooks, Abdul Gaston, Jr., Amari Gaston, Armoni Gaston, Kase’on Hood and Sh’Quann Alsbrooks, Jr.; his brothers, Shawn Batte (Danielle) and Justin Porter (Monica); his sister, Angie Urrutia Yellock (Robert); his uncle, James Batte; his son-in-law, Sh’Quann Alsbrooks, Sr.; his goddaughter, Shaqual’a Swanson-Sawyer; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
Earl's life will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in the Chapel of The Major H. Winfield Funeral Home with viewing and visitation 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
