While still very young, Marquay was trained to work on automobiles by his grandfather. He would eventually become a very skilled auto mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars, racing cars, weightlifting, fishing, helping and encouraging others, and spending time with his family and friends. On Thursday, April 13, 2023 the Lord called Marquay’s spirit home. He left this earthly life behind and went home to eternal rest. His departure has saddened the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory will live on. Marquay leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Mrs. Christy Johnson of Thomaston, GA; his father Mr. Quincy Johnson of Macon, GA; one brother, Mr. Keyon Johnson of Thomaston, GA; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Shirley Thompson; maternal grandfather, Mr. Bobby Respress; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Eunice Miller all Thomaston, GA; paternal grandfather, Mr. Claude Johnson of Macon, GA; aunts, Mrs. Delia Thompson of Newnan, GA, Mr. Marvin (Rachel) Searcy and Mrs. Angela (Bruce) Stinson all of Columbus, GA, Mr. Eddie Gene (LaQuanda) Harris of Griffin, GA; a host of other aunts and uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
