The Obituary: Andre De’Koven Reynolds was born in Tuskegee, Alabama to the parentage of the late Dr. Nimrod Q. Reynolds and the late Mrs. Luenell Todd Reynolds. He has played and sang professionally for almost fifty years. His music career has taken him to 4 continents. Andre’ received his formal education at the University of Alabama where he majored in Computer Science and studied classical organ. Andre studied and received musical training from Dr. Myrtice Fields-Collins, Ms. Johnnie Ware, Reverend H. H. Murray, Mrs. Carrie Thomas, Ms. Nancy Baird and Dr. William Hutton. Andre received a B.S. degree in Biblical Studies from the Abundant Life School of Ministry in Birmingham, AL. Andre’ has worked professionally as musician, producer, singer and choreographer. He began at the age of 12 with the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church, Anniston under the pastorate of the late Reverend A. A. Scales (5 years). During his adolescence he became Organist for the Youth and Gospel Choir of the Seventeenth Street Baptist Church (3 years) until he moved to Tuscaloosa to attend the University of Alabama. While residing in Tuscaloosa he served the Marantha Christian Center under the pastorate of Bill Reginald and Allen Williams (2 years) and Hunter’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church (2 years) under the pastorate of Sherman Green. When he returned to Anniston he became the organist of 17th Street Baptist Church (12 Years). In 1994, Andre’ served as Minister of Music with the Mount Olive Baptist Church, Anniston under the pastorate of Reverend John Nettles (2 ½ years). He also began choirs such as Gospel Omega and East Alabama. After moving to Birmingham in 1996, Andre’ served as Minister of Music at the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, under the pastorate of David Craig (6 years). He served as Music Minister at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Gadsden under the pastorate of Dr. G. E. Robinson (10 years). He served as Music Minister for the Historic Sixteenth Street Baptist Church, Birmingham under the pastorate of Arthur Price (2 years). He served as organist at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church under the pastorate of Dr. Bernard Williams (1 year). Andre’ served as musician and music director for Debbie Williams and Endurance and toured Italy with them in December 2005. He began Thanksgiving, Praise and Worship International Ministries in 1997. This 501©3 organization has 5 components: Music (Gospel, Negro Spirituals, Hymns, Anthems, Hip Hop, etc.) Missions (foreign and domestic), Melodrama (Gospel Stage Plays), Manna (Weekly Bible Study), and Meditation (Intercessory Prayer). Reverend Andre’ Reynolds and TPW International Ministries has shared the love of Christ on four continents over the past 25 years. He has witnessed thousands accept Christ during 40 Crusades to Japan, India, Ireland, The Netherlands, Tanzania and Canada as well as supporting ministries in Kenya, Nigeria, China, Romania, The United Kingdom and Cuba. Minister Reynolds accepted the call into the Gospel ministry and was licensed by his father Dr. N. Q. Reynolds and the Seventeenth Street Baptist Church in 1995. However, he was already teaching, preaching, admonishing and reproving well before that time. He was ordained by Bishop Daniel Cason and the Abundant Life Fellowship of Ministries and Churches. He currently is a member of Abundant Life Church, Gadsden where Bishop Terry Jones is his pastor. Andre’s Information Technology (IT) career includes: University of Alabama Seebeck Computer Center, Anniston City School Superintendent’s office, UPP Business Systems (Dallas-Austin), Vulcan Materials (Birmingham). His tenure in the IT fields spans over 23 years. He has worked as a programmer, systems analysist, Center Manager and Consultant. Andre’ authored software that includes HR (payroll, Benefits, Taxes (local, multiple state, and federal), General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, International Shipping, Welfare Reform etc. He began his IT Company, Omega Solutions of Birmingham in 2003. Omega Solutions specializes in Web Site Hosting and Design, Graphic Arts, Computer Consulting, etc. He was preceded in death by: Parents Nimrod and Luenell Reynolds; several aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Sister Tammye Reynolds Williams; Aunts Maudie Taylor and Sally Ruth Mott; Uncle Reginald Wright Reynolds. Nephews Stanley WIlliams, Stedman Orr, Lyn'darius Kemp; niece Na'Shiya Cunningham and host of other relatives and friends.
Public Viewing will be Friday, April 21, 2023 from 12:00 Noon - 6:00 P.M. at the West Gadsden Funeral Home (Betty D. Robinson) Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Abundant Life Church 323 S.12th Street Gadsden, Al. 35904
