Marcel Adams was born on November 6, 1938, in Louisiana to Jimmy Marshall Adams and Melvina Veasley. They later moved to Ethel, MS and settled in Kosciusko, MS in the early 50s.
Marcel was educated in the Kosciusko Public Schools. He participated in sports and sang in the Jubilee Chorus led by the late Everlee Presley. Following high school graduation in 1959, Marcel enlisted in the US Army for one year, then transferred to the US Navy in 1961, and went on to serve 20 years retiring in 1979 at the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
After his navel service, Marcel obtained additional vocational training at Holmes Community College in Automotive Mechanics and Welding. Marcell was formerly employed with the Kosciusko Police Department as a Dispatcher and later operated his own Laundry and Transportation business. During his leisure time, he followed his passion as a local DJ for several entertainment establishments and local events, affectionately known as "Doctor Piece-of-Love".
Marcel Adams departed this life peacefully in his sleep on April 12, 2023. He was preceded in death by his beloved father Jimmy Adams, his mother Melvina Veasley Adams, and sisters YC Williams, Jewellan Adams, and His grandson Roderick Quartez Ward.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his children Marcus (Rhonda) Adams of St. Louis, MO; Curtis Adams of Kosciusko, MS; and Kimberly Marcia Adams of Decatur, GA; siblings, Lavell Mitchell and Jimmy (June) Adams both of Milwaukee, WI; Kenneth Adams of Madison, WI, and Martha Nell (Cleophus, Jr) Hines of Twin Lake, MI; grandchildren Gabrielle Adams, Chancellor Adams of St. Louis, MO; Kamekia Adams of Hattiesburg, MS and great grandson Koa Malachi Baker of Hattiesburg, MS; first cousin Shirley Adams McNeal of Kosciusko, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
