Funeral Services of the late Mr. Alphonso Black, of Covington, GA., will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023, 1:00 P.M. at The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1879 Glenwood Avenue, Atlanta, GA., with remains placed in repose at 12:00 NOON. Reverend Dr. William E. Flippin, Sr., Senior Pastor, Eulogist, Reverend Richard Flippin, Assoc. Pastor, Officiating. Interment will be held Friday, April 28, 2023, 9:30 A.M. at The Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.

Alphonso is survived by his devoted, loving wife Mrs. Daisy 0. Black; his five children, Ronald Richardson (Kim), of Olney, MD., Kathy Richardson, of Lithonia, GA., Lisa Black- Shaw (Tyrone), of District Heights, MD., Tawanza Black Shaw, of Roxboro, NC., Alphonso Black, Jr. (Charrice), of Fairfield, CA.; 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A Very Special Thanks to Patricia Richardson, and Derrick Black, for each of their contributions to the family during Alphonso's illness.
