Obituary For Felisia Lane Hale

A celebration of life for Felesia Lane Hale, 60, of Powder Springs, Georgia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Holy Hill COOLJC. Elder Gary Smith is the pastor. Elder Michael Verges will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be in Pine Grove CME Church Cemetery. Ms. Hale will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

On August 6, 1962, Sherman and Barbara Lane of Eastaboga, Alabama were blessed with their third of five children, a girl they named Felesia.

Felesia received the foundation of her Christian journey within the walls of Holy Hill Church of our Lord Jesus Christ. As life progressed so did her faith in God. She later found a new church home at Faith Apostolic Church in Birmingham. She was of the belief that education was a very important part of life. Felesia was a member of the 1980 graduating class of Lincoln High School. Furthering her education at Cambridge College and Harvard University were two of her many accomplishments. Upon the completion of her educational endeavors, Felesia spent her life dedicated to the education of the youth that would shape and mold our country into what we now know it to be and what to come. She worked tirelessly as an administrator and other positions in the school system until her health began to fail. Once she left the field of education, Felesia worked to help others when ever she could and enjoyed gardening.

Felesia will be sorely missed by her daughter, Danielle Hale (Jarret) Wingfield of Semmes, Alabama; her parents, Sherman and Barbara Lane of Eastaboga, Alabama; two sisters, Sharon Lane and Valerie (Nathaniel) Smith of Lincoln, Alabama; two brothers, Edward (Sena) Lane of Ashville, Alabama and Clyde (Chandralekha) Lane of Talladega, Alabama; five godchildren, Tanganyika Grayson, Aaron Grayson, Kimberly Grayson, Rickell Grayson and Richard Grayson; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.

On April 27, 2023, Felesia answered the Master’s call to rest. Awaiting her was her daughter, Gabrielle Hale; a nephew, Evan Lane; and a host of others including her Mama Lee.
