Abraham Roberts, Jr., affectionately known by most as Geech and Junior to many, was born on October 31, 1947 in Riceboro, Georgia to the late Mr. Abraham Roberts, Sr. and Mrs. Ruth L. Wrenfore.
He attended the Liberty County High School. He was well loved Briar Bay Community of Riceboro, Georgia. At an early age, he joined First African Baptist Church in Riceboro under the leadership of Rev. Garfield Jackson. After high school, he moved to Miami, Florida. There he met the love of his life, Mrs. Lula M. Williams Roberts. They lived there for many years, before relocating to Valdosta, Georgia in 1982.
Once relocating to Valdosta, Georgia, he became employed at Langdale for three years. Afterwards, he became employed at Reams and Son Construction, Company of Valdosta, Georgia; where he eventually retired from this employment. He was a faithful member of West Hill Church of Christ in Valdosta, Georgia. He served on the Usher Board until his passing. He enjoyed grilling, working in the yards and taking care of his family. He never met a stranger.
He passed from this earthly house on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 51 years Mrs. Lula M. Roberts; his children Angela L. and Sam Brown III, Abraham Roberts, III, Shahogony White; grandchildren Morgan, Tabitha, Abriana (Emmanuel), Kaleb, A.J. IV, Jayla, Essie, Ced, Jacinda, Jaiden and Journey; great grandchildren Asher, Eden, Theodore, Calvin and Carter; siblings Larry LeCounte, Sarah Long (Arthur), Debbie Wrenfore, James Wrenfore, Saul Hargrove (Sharon), Expher Hargrove (Elaine), David Hargrove, Charleston Hargrove (Geraldine), Errol Hargrove (Patricia); special first cousins Sharon, Margaret, Angela, Sandra, Betty, Mary, Elemia, Sarah and Doris; brothers and sisters-in-law Gladys Ragan, Rosie Martin, Elijah Williams, Arthur Williams, Ellington Williams, Larry Williams, Mizell Williams, Josie Williams, Brenda Williams, Andrew Williams, Annie Register, Bobbie Dumas; one special God daughter SaRabi Register; three special nieces Shannon, Tashyka, Talesha; three special, bonus sons Tony, Travis and Jermaine; one best friend Elijah Williams; two special friends Dwayne Gray and Daryl Arnold and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and dear friends that will miss him dearly.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 3PM at West Hill Church of Christ in Valdosta, GA. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery in Morven, GA.
