Obituary For Mrs. Rosetta Sturdivant Shuford

The beautiful life of Mrs. Rosetta Sturdivant Shuford came to a peaceful close on Saturday, April 29th 2023.

We the children and family bow in submission to God’s will.

Born April 16, 1944 in Anson County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late W.C. Sturdivant and Esther Tillman Sturdivant.

She received her education from Kingville High School. She retired from Tuscarora Yarns. Rosetta was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Rosetta was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd G. Shuford, son, Dale A. Sturdivant, brothers, Robert Sturdivant and Harold Sturdivant and sister, Elaine Sturdivant.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Darrell (Mary) Sturdivant, Floyd Shuford Jr., Ellen Shuford, Garvin Shuford and Kiksheal Shuford (Alonzo); grandchildren, Christopher (Tanya) Harris, Dale (Aileen) Sturdivant Jr., Mary Angel Sturdivant (Timothy), Alisha Sturdivant, Dalton Shuford, Darrell Sturdivant Jr., Darlisha (Dee) Thames, Bryanna McPherson, Shanice Sturdivant, Alexis Wittman, Asheleigh Shuford, Dylan Wittman, Tori Hinson, Garvin Shuford Jr. and Kannen Winfrey.

Brothers, William Sturdivant of Albemarle, North Carolina, Eddie Sturdivant of New Haven, Connecticut, Bobby (Rosemary) Sturdivant of Polkton (Burnsville Community) North Carolina, Warren (Brenda) Sturdivant of Aurora, Colorado. Sisters, Cassie (Paul) Kluttz of Albemarle, North Carolina, Ernestine and Angela Sturdivant of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Phyllis (Rev. D.S.) Taylor of Oakboro, North Carolina and Marcella Sturdivant of Oakboro, North Carolina. One aunt, Marion Gatewood of Charlotte, North Carolina, two sisters-in-law, Peggy Sturdivant of Oakboro, North Carolina and Deborah Sturdivant of Charlotte, North Carolina. A very special cousin, Gloria Gaines of Albemarle, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, May 6, 2023, 11:30am, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of Oakboro Cemetery, Oakboro, North Carolina.

The Shuford Family will greet family and friends on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 11:00-11:30am at Smith's Memorial Chapel.
