Funeral Service for Ms. Tammy Hughley Lanier of Anniston will be Saturday, May 6, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Anniston, Carlton Phillips, Pastor with Pastor Clay Johnson, Eulogist. Burial will follow at Edgemont Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 5, 2023 at Goodson Funeral Home from 1:00-6:00 p.m.
Ms. Tammy Cassandra Hughley Lanier began her life on August 4, 1959 to the parentage of the late Otis and Alma Hughley in Anniston, AL. She was educated through Thankful Elementary School and Calhoun Training School. At an early age, she joined Mars Hill Baptist Church and confessed Christ as her Lord and personal Savior. She later moved to Danville, VA, where she joined hands in marriage to Mr. Edward (Towyzz) Lanier. Tammy was the life of the party. She loved to have fun, listened to music and danced with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Alma Hughley; her daughter, NaKita Myriee; four brothers; William, Victor, Samuel and Daniel Hughley, and a sister, Janelou Hughley. On April 28, 2023, Tammy departed her life at UAB Highlands Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving children; daughters, Latonya Hughley, Monica Myriee, and Natasha Myriee of Anniston AL, her son, LaVonte Allen, siblings; Reverend Mae Rose Long and Lacie Bailey of Anniston, AL, Sherron (William) Weston of Gadsden, AL, Reverend Sam (Shirley) Emory of Merced CA, Connie Emory, Tabitha Emory, Greg Emory, and Edward Emory of Anniston, AL, Vince (Theresa) Emory of Fryer, AL, grandchildren; Shanika, Quameka, Tellis, Tymisha, Keyanna and Torris of Anniston, AL, God-children; Dion and Evon Calhoun, Jeffery Byrd and Bertum Cartee of Anniston, AL, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends; Charles Carmichael, Marshell Holifield, stepchildren; Marlon (Coretta) Morris, Gisela (Rodney) Bolton and Michael Morris.
