OPELOUSAS A Celebration of Life will be held at from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA for Ms. Valada Savoy, 72, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in Shreveport, LA.

Ms. Savoy leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Wilbert Savoy, Jr. of Plaquemine, LA; three brothers, Ambry Richard and Wallace Richard, both of Beaumont, TX and Clement John Richard of Opelousas, LA; two sisters, Mary Richard and Ethel Thierry, both of Jackson, LA; three Godchildren, Belinda Kay Richard of Beaumont, TX, Zakaria Janea Richard of Baton Rouge, LA and Isaiah Paul Richard of Church Point, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Ms. Savoy is preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph and Leona Richard; two brothers, Calvin Paul Richard and Joseph Andres Richard; and three sisters, Kitty Maxie Granger, Ida Mae Richard and Carolin Clark.
