Obituary For Mr. Mark Anthony Garrett

A celebration of life honoring Mr. Mark Anthony Garrett, 46, of Talladega will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Ragland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Sunday before the service.

Mark Garrett was a loving father, son, brother and soon to be husband. He put family over everything and always wanted to make sure they had the best quality of life. He loved music, gaming, anime, family time, trying to figure things out on his own and create new approaches to different situations. Mark always set morals and standards for his kids and family to uphold. He was real, honest and always spoke his truth on what he believed. Mark was loud, fun, humorous and was always joking and playing. His personality is unforgettable and no matter how much life goes on he will always live on. He will always have people that love him, no matter where he goes, and he will always be remembered as the anchor to his family.

Mark Anthony Garrett began life’s journey on October 15, 1976, in Talladega, Alabama to the parentage of Denson Garrett and Edna Curry.

Mr. Garrett attended various churches in his community. He was a graduate of Talladega County Central High School and was employed with ATAP, Inc. at the time of his passing.

Mark’s legacy will live on through his loving companion, Jessie Lomeli of Talladega, Alabama; three children, Mark A. Garrett, Jr., Lailoni Garrett and Keylon Garrett of Talladega, Alabama; his parents, Denson Garrett and Edna Curry of Talladega, Alabama; three brothers, Chris Curry, Andra Garrett and Shaun Stamps of Talladega, Alabama; a special friend, Mike Brown; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, online gaming family and friends.

On May 7, 2023, Mark quietly began his rest after a brief illness. He was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Gertrude Ragland Curry and Earl Lee Curry; his uncle, Larry Curry; a niece, Quiniesha Cross; and a good friend, Byron Hammonds.
