Obituary For Lucille Castleberry Keith

A celebration of life for Ms. Lucille Castleberry Keith, 79, of Talladega will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Peace Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the funeral home.

Lucille was nurtured and loved as a child by Roosevelt and Corine Estell. Lucille was born full of personality. From the time she began to talk, she always said she was five years old, never younger. When asked her age up until her sunset, she expressed with her head held high, “25”. Lucille was proud and excited to attend Westside High School, representing Westside’s band as a majorette. As a result of Lucille’s nurturing childhood, she pursued a career with the Talladega City School System until retirement. She believed in higher education and worked to instill the power of education in her five children: André Wayne Keith, Dana Lance Keith, Pamela De neen Keith, Tyre Omega Keith and Thelma Arneetra Keith.

Lucille was preceded in death by her loving parents; her two sisters, Minerva Gray and Annette Pope; and two brothers, Roy Estell and Ray Estell. Cherishing her lasting memories, Lucille leaves her five children, André, Dana, Pamela, Tyre and Thelma; grandchildren, Andre II, Amira, Danika, Keith, Kenneth, KenJa'ah, Thurman, Anissa, Andrea, Kiara and Jasmine; a host of great grandchildren; four siblings, Martha Hill (James), Bertha Pope, Yvonne McElderry (Ira) and Roosevelt Estell, Jr. of Talladega, Alabama; and many devoted nephews, nieces, other family members and friends. Lucille’s name will live on through her niece, Kailah Lucille Taylor Estell Amey.

Lucille gave her life to the Lord at an early age and served Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ faithfully until she was promoted to Heaven and gained her wings on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. She now resides with our Heavenly Father where she will continue to watch over us.
