Mr. Dennis W. Vaughn, Sr., 63, of Phenix City, AL died Sunday, May 14, 2023 in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Franchise Missionary Baptist Church, Dr. Raymond Cochran, pastor,officiating; Rev. Ernest Snead, IV, eulogist. Interment to follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Visitation is Friday May 19, 2023 from 12-5 p.m. EST.

Mr. Vaughn known to many as “ManMan” was born February 16, 1960 to George Miller, Sr. and Georgia M. Vaughn. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Mr. Lonnie.

He attended Mother Mary Mission and Phenix City Public Schools. He graduated from Central High School in 1978.

He accepted Christ early in life at Grace Temple AOH. Later he joined Faithful Missionary Baptist Church where he was part of the Parking Lot Ministry. He was employed and retired from Kellogg's. Post retirement he worked with the Russell County Coroner's Office.

Dennis was called the “Pit Master” by his family and friends. He also received the bragging rights for winning the White Water Classic Cook Off for his famous BBQ. He was told by one of the judges that those were some of the best ribs they had ever had. As most of you know, that was all he needed to hear.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Miller, Sr. and stepfather, Lonnie Luckerson, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Georgia M. Luckerson; two sons, Dennis W. Vaughn, Jr. (Erica) and James Christopher Vaughn; four sisters, Gloria J. Sanders, Debbie Long, Sandy Cofield and Vickie L. Perry (Elijah); three brothers, Ronnie Luckerson, Sr. (Sylvia), Abraham Luckerson (Linda) and George Miller, Jr.; five grandchildren, Kayleb, Malachi, Jasiah, Erin and Kaedence; two devoted friends, Cathy Radford and Faith Lee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
