Obituary For Mrs. Lois Pauline Baker

A memorial service in honor of Mrs. Lois Pauline Baker will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 at noon at Washington Funeral Home, 1059 Hamilton Ave in Farrell, PA. Mrs. Baker, 91 of Niles, Ohio departed this life May 13, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. The youngest child of Henry and Maxie Harris Williams, she was born on January 22nd, 1932, in Franklin, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Sharon High School, Lois worked at Howell Industries and retired as a press operator for 29 years.
In 1951 she met and married Alexander Baker Jr. and to this union, four children were born. A member of First Baptist Church, Farrell, Pa., she also participated in the choir and usher board. She and her sister were instrumental in beginning the first “Mama & Pop-Pop’s Kidds” Family Reunion in 1999, providing advice as well as information when needed. Lois enjoyed cooking but was a master at baking pies, cookies, and cakes of which her Rum cake was the most popular.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Gwendolyn Bell, son Mark Baker, three granddaughters, Tisa (Brian) Harris, Tamara (Marcus) Amison, and Quaryah Garner; six great-grandchildren, Vernon, Makiyah, Danyelle, Amelinda, Jazzmin and Avery; One great-great-grandchild, Ariel; her sisters Ruby Baker, Pennsauken, N.J., Ann L. Jackson, Dayton, Ohio, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son Alexander Baker III; her daughter Cheryl Baker Bown; her grandson, Kirk Wheeler; her sisters, Ruth Williams, Maxine Hartley, and her brothers William, Henry Jr., and George.
