God if I must leave this world today,
Please find a DOVE to show me the way
Sandra was born on March 30, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee to the loving mother
Lela Parnell and was blessed to have two loving fathers, Frank Jones Jr & Otto Jones Jr. all of whom proceeded her in death. Sandra relocated with her mom to Chicago, IL at a very young age.
Sandra graduated from Parker High School and attended Daley Junior College. She found love at an early age when she met Ernest Moore in middle school their love continued to blossom. The young couple sealed their love by joining in holy matrimony in 1973. To this union they had 3 beautiful children Sakita N. Moore, “The Twins” Tanysha R & Tremayne R. Moore. Sandra was blessed to be able to be a stay-at-home mom to ensure that her children were well taken care of.
Sandra gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of New Joy Devine Church until her health failed & remained a member until she transitioned. Sandra loved family both immediate and extended. You could always count on her to show up and help with whatever you needed even if it was to just show up with her delicious highly requested deviled eggs. There wasn’t a blues song written that she didn’t enjoy. If you wanted to see her, get up and shake her grove thang all you had to do was play “Hole in the Wall” or “Last Two Dollars” and she would be on that dance floor. If you really knew Sandra D. you knew and understood that she didn’t play any games and EVERYONE should know her favorite saying about a Mc Donald straw.
To do what was right Sandra D was guided by the five points of light. Sandra was a loyal and faithful member of the Order of Eastern Star, Serenity Grand Chapter No. 21 under the leadership of Most Worshipful Spence Cook Grand lodge A.F. & A. M. She was an active and dedicated member of Queen Vashti chapter No. 2 and wore many hats. Sandra D. was an Honorary Past Grand Matron, State Deputy of Carter court #2, Lena court Heroines of Jericho Most Ancient Matron, Supreme Vice Most Ancient Matron, and Ada Palace #1 Royal Queen. She was definitely a star that was shining bright.
Sandra is survived by her three loving children Sakita, Tanysha & Tremayne (Cherece) Moore. 9 grandchildren: Jamecia, Taneya, Terron, Anferenee, Stone, Makyla, Bryce, Tremayne Jr & Sanaya. 3 great grandchildren: Madisyn, Jacari & McKenna. 6 siblings Tony (Toni), Moana (Mark), Mark, Jacqueline, Emil, Rebecca, Ashanta (Tanzanika).
