Obituary For Orlando Wickware

( October 9, 1968 – May 22, 2023 )

TYLER-- Funeral services for Mr. Orlando Wickware, 54, of Tyler, Texas will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary of Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church in the Redland Community with Pastor Ralph Caraway Sr serving as eulogist. Burial will follow in the County Line Cemetery under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.

Mr. Wickware was born October 9, 1968 to the parentage of the late Willie C. Wickware Jr and Glenda ( Gwen) Pride Howland in Smith County and transitioned on May 22, 2023.

Mr. Wickware, a graduate from John Tyler HS, was a stellar athlete excelling in football and track. Upon returning to Tyler from college at the University of Central Arkansas, Lumpy became active in the community sharing those same talents and love for sports. He coached Pop Warner and Little League teams for many years to give back through what he loved and was known for. Mr. Wickware also was a member of Mount Zion C.M.E Church and was a long time employee of Trane Technologies.

Preceding him in death was his maternal and paternal grandparents: Willie C. Wickware Sr., Ella Mae Wickware, Albert Hudson Jr. and Lois McClendon; one uncle and one aunt.

He is survived by his Mother: Glenda Howland; Special Friend: Pamela Stephenson; Daughters: Ashley Johnson Wickware, Akia Wickware, Amia Wickware, Shaun Williams and Keandra Williams all of Tyler, Texas; Brothers: Dexter Guster of Tyler, Cedric Taylor, Frederick Green Jr. and Keven Green of Dallas, Tyrone Ricks of Houston; Sisters: Rebecca Guster Pringle, Carolyn Guster and Lauren McDonald, all of Tyler, Christina Allen of North Carolina and Nikia Taylor and Carla Miller of Dallas; Grandchildren: La'Trevian Leach, La'Niyah Leach and Malani Edwards and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be Friday, May 26, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
