BIOGRAPHY

MOTHER LILLIE PEARL FREEMAN was born April 28th, 1945, to the late Ella V. Jenkins & Joe C. Tillman. She attended local public schools and graduated from Westside High in 1964.

She was employed at South Georgia Medical Center for several years until her retirement.

Mother Freeman met the love of her life and was united in holy matrimony February 6, 1965, to the late Jerry Freeman Sr.

Mother Freeman was preceded in death by her parents, Ella V. Jenkins & Joe C. Tillman, one sister, Luvenia Butler, and two daughters Linda Whitfield and Valeria Freeman.

Mother Freeman joined New Life Ministries under the leadership of the late Bishop Larry D. Manning Sr.. and continued to serve in ministry under the leadership ot Pastor Bernard Braswell. She faithfully served on the Mother's Ministry, Rosa Ministry and Senior Ministry.

She valued and cherished the memories of her loving children: Jerry Freeman Jr. of Honolulu, HI, Elder Anthony Freeman of Virginia Beach, VA, Jason & Terrance Freeman both of Valdosta, GA and Chris Godfrey of Hahira, GA.

Two loving daughters: First Lady Sonya Greene of St. Petersburg, FL and First Lady Rhonda Bailey of Valdosta, GA.

Two sons-in-law: Pastor Mark Greene of St. Petersburg, FL and Pastor Gerald Bailey of Valdosta. GA

Three daughters-in-law: Kasumi Freeman of Honolulu, HI, Melanie Freeman of Virginia Beach, VA, Tracie Freeman of Valdosta, GA.

Her siblings held a special place in her heart who she loved dearly: Lawrence Tillman (Altamese), John Lee Tillman (Jennie), Evangelist Betty Alexander (Shun), Carlton Tillman (Cheryl), and a special sister-in-law, Fannie Mae Tillman.

Mother Lillie Freeman adored and enjoyed the attendance of her 26 grandchildren: Taunashia Whitfield, Jarvis Wright and Christopher Bailey, in which she assisted her children in raising.

Additionally, she leaves behind 17 great grandchildren.

Two Uncles: Ernest & Elijah Arnold both of Valdosta, GA.

She leaves behind the siblings of her husband, Jerry Freeman Sr., who she loved as her biological siblings: Grady, Tony, Darren, Derrick, Russell, Bernistine, Iristine, Mary, Martha, Charlene, and Shontina.

Mother Lillie Pearl Freeman loved the Lord with all her heart and was a faith member and a part of the Mothers Board at New Life Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Bernard Braswell. She loved her biological family as well as her church family and will be greatly missed.

She will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins. She leaves behind two special friends: Catherine Wright and Fannie McCormick. As well as someone she loved and was dear to her heart, Katrina Hill.


Visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 1PM-7PM.


A celebration of life will be Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 3PM at New Life Ministries with Pastor Bernard Braswell, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page to view a livestream of the celebration on Saturday.
