Obituary For Alberta Cosby Williams

Alberta Cosby Williams, 79 was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 26, 2023, at her home in Greensboro, Ga. She was born on February 23, 1944, to the late Waymon Cosby and Winnie Tripp Cosby. Alberta received her education in the Greene County School System. At a young age, she invited Christ into her life at Ebenezer AME Church where she attended faithfully until her health began to fail.

Alberta was employed with the Greene County Board of Education for 42 years and the University of Georgia for 36 years. After retirement, she devoted her time to her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She was a woman of very few word, but she was a very loving, caring and giving person. Although Alberta only gave birth to one daughter, Cindy (Ronald) Dunn, she had enough love to raise two more like her own, Theresa Cosby and Bernadette Allen.

Alberta was proceeded in death by her six siblings: Sidney, Waymon, Geraldine, Peggy, Mary Ann, Henry Clay and Carrie. Now they all shall be reunited.

Her memories will be cherished by her loving daughter Cindy Shelton, granddaughter Wendy Rowland. and grandson Vincent (Tiffany) Rowland, Jr. In addition to her six great-grands, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Best friend: Gail Bishop will always remember her with love and laughter.

Services were Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from the Ebenezer AME Church, Greensboro Georgia at 12 noon with Rev. Ricky Cosby, Eulogist.
