WAYNE HAROLD SWAN, 70, OF 8139 WILLOWGLEN DR. PEACEFULLY TRANSITIONED ON MAY 25 AT HIS RESIDENCE.
HE WAS BORN ON JULY 1, 1952 IN CONNELLVILLE, PA. TO THE LATE HAROLD WAYNE SWAN AND BEVERLY JUNE SWAN. AFTER GRADUATING FROM HIGH SCHOOL, HE BEGAN HIS SERVICE FOR THE U.S. MARINE CORPS. SERGEANT SWAN SERVED IN THE VIETNAM WAR, RECEIVING A SILVER STAR, TWO BRONZE STARS AND THREE PURPLE HEARTS.
THE FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE PROFESSIONALLY DIRECTED ON SATURDAY, JUNE 3, AT 10:30AM AT FEGGINS & FEGGINS CHAPEL IN WAKE FOREST, NC. THE FAMILY VISITATION WILL BE FROM 10AM - 10:30AM ON SATURDAY MORNING AT FEGGINS & FEGGINS. THE BURIAL WILL BE ON TUESDAY, JUNE 6, AT 10AM AT SALISBURY NATIONAL CEMETERY IN SALISBURY, NC. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, PLEASE CONSIDER A DONATION TO VETERANS ASSOCIATION FOR CANCER RESEARCH.
I went to school with Wayne and feel fortunate to call him a friend. While many of us went off to college or pursued careers, Wayne joined the Marines and showed his valor and bravery on the battlefield. He will be missed by his friends and family.
