The late Mrs. Mildred Carter was called home on May 25, 2023 in Macon, Georgia.

At an early age, she was added to the Church of Christ. During her childhood and while living in Quitman, she was a member of the Shumate Street Church of Christ. Preceding her death, Sis. Carter relocated and became a member at Chapel Hill Church of Christ in Macon, Georgia.

Mrs. Mildred Carter was born July 5, 1940, to the late Jack Blankumsee, Sr. and Eddie Bell Blankumsee in Quitman, Georgia. She was the sixth child of thirteen children; nine preceded her in death. Mildred Carter is survived by three siblings: Eugene Blankumsee, Odessa Blankumsee, and Arleen Golden.

Mildred Carter was proceeded in death by her late husbands, William Thomas and Lawrence Carter; her daughters, Jacqueline Christian and Gwendolyn Dunlap; and her sons, Darrell Thomas, Sr. and Daniel Inman, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her Beloved Children, Detra Maynard (Tracy) of Macon, GA, LaKeisha Thomas of Quitman, GA, Leon Thomas, Sr. of Hahira, GA, Anthony Thomas, Sr. (Patricia) of Gainesville, FL, Tarence Thomas, Sr. (Mae) of Valdosta, GA, Kenya Giddens (Trina) of Quitman, GA; A Special and Devoted Daughter-in-Law, Aleatha Thomas and Son-in-Law, John Christian Sr.; Special Granddaughter, Tarajsha Thomas of Valdosta, GA; A Special Grandson, Swinski “Ski” Carter of Valdosta, GA; A Special Friend, Katie McCloud of Quitman, GA; 44 Grandchildren; 75 Great Grandchildren; Bonus Daughters, Tracy Brown, Luevonne Adams, Kimberly Patterson of Macon, GA, Gloria McCloud of Opelika, AL, Debra Head Thompson, Shameka Smith and Denise Manns all of Macon GA and a host of Nieces, Nephews and Friends.

Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Mildred B. Carter will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 12:00 PM – Shumate Street Church of Christ, Min. Tony D. Herring, Sr. Pastor and Min. Antwan D. Brown, Eulogist; Internment: North End Cemetery, Quitman, Georgia. Public Visitation: 12:00-6:00 PM, Friday, June 2, 2023 and Family Visitation, 4:00 – 5:00 PM in the BTW Funeral Services Chapel.
