Betty J. Swinton

Betty Jean Swinton was born on July 10, 1948, in Lane, South Carolina to John Davis and Mariah “Curly” Davis.
Betty attended C. E. Murray High School in Greeleyville, South Carolina.

She was a faithful member of Lighthouse Church of Jesus for 48 plus years, until her health declined. During that time, she served on the Mother Board, Pastoral Aid Committee, Missionary Board, and Usher Board and served as the General Church Secretary, Local Church Secretary, and Church Head Cook. She was a member of the Lighthouse Church of
Jesus Organization.

Betty was employed with Square D Company, Swinton Brothers Concrete as the Officer Administrator, Home Shopping Network, Clearwater Comprehensive Middle School, and Directions for Mental Health. She was a Child Care Provider and Homemaker.

Sister Betty’s passion for serving the Lord, willingness to help others, legendary homecooked meals, love for baking, care for children, love for spending time with family and friends, and her affectionate smile will be
greatly missed by all.

Sister Betty Jean Swinton departed this earthly life on Monday, May 29, 2023, in Clearwater, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mariah “Curly” Davis, father, John Davis, brothers, Samuel Davis, Sr. and James Davis and sisters, Jannie Mae Garrett, Essie Lee Major, and Dorothy Davis.
