Ms. Grader Lashaun Mitchell, 57, of Phenix City, AL passed Tuesday, June 6, 2023 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held 12 noon EST, Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Canaan A.M.E. Church, Seale, AL with Rev. Hurbert Newsome, pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in the church New Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 12-5 p.m. EST.
Grader Lasharn Bass Mitchell was born April 6, 1966 in Russell County, AL to the late Annie Ruth Bass.
She gained her wings on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Piedmont Hospital.
Grader accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Jerusalem Baptist Church. She later united with Canaan African Methodist Episcopal Church where she served as a Steward, Director of the Young People's Department, member of the Women's Missionary Society, supporter of the Sons of Allen, Lay Organization, member of church Finance committee, Choir Secretary and a dedicated member of the kitchen committee where she always excelled. Her presence will be missed sorely in all areas of the church and community.
Grader was a graduate of Central High School class of 1984.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Ruth Bass; three brothers, Eric Dewayne Bass, Willie Hill and Tommy Morgan, Sr.; grandparents, Clifford Bass, S. and Rozella Bass Jones, three uncles and three aunts.
Grader leaves to cherish her precious memories two sons, Jonathan C. Bass of Columbus, GA and Joshua S. Mitchell of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Chasade (Dank) Bass and Samantha Thornton both of Phenix City, AL; a beautiful granddaughter, Harmony N. Bass of Columbus, GA; aunt, Odessa Bass of Phenix City, AL; god daughter, Vanisha Miles; two god mothers, Betty Richardson of Columbus, GA and Merle Lockett of Seale, AL; four special friends, Marvin Stallings, Angela Kelly Brown, Paris Ward all of Phenix City, AL and Jerome Moultrie of Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, her church family and friends.
