Gerald Kyle Griffin was born on January 8th, 1984 at Joan Glancy Memorial, in Norcross Ga. He was born to Ms. Margie Griffin and James Murphy He was the 3rd of 5 children. He was always considered the “golden child”. As a child, he often attended Hopewell Baptist Church with his grandmother Willie Mae Griffin, whom he would get the quote “God Love you and I Love you.”
Gerald attended high school at Towers High in Decatur, Ga, where he built lasting friendships and countless memories. He was always known for his beautiful smile and his respectful manners. Later in life, he received his GED certificate, and was even named his class Valedictorian. He was a natural entrepreneur, who did what it took to be successful. And he did it with joy and love in his heart.
From an early age, Gerald was always very active. His favorite thing to do was run fast. He was always running for something. He moved fast even when he wasn’t running. He loved caring for animals, especially dogs and snakes. Ultimately, getting the nickname “Snake”. The most encouraging thing about Gerald is that he had a heart of gold. He had a light in him that shined so bright. He did everything out of the kindness of his heart, and he always did it with a big smile. Gerald would give anyone the clothes off of his back and feed them. He always showed love. He will truly be missed by so many.
He is survived by his mother Margie Griffin, his son Mekhi White, his siblings Joshua Griffin, Andretta Murphy, Noah Griffin, Tamishia Hunter (Chris Hunter) Cordaryl Griffin. A very special aunt Gail Griffin, very special friends Ricea Gray, Tammy Usher, and William Barnett. He’s also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and so many friends that truly loved him. Special thanks to Grady staff, and Addison, Wheylan, and Trivia at Miller County Nursing Center.
