Obituary For Ola Mae Denson Walker

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Ola Mae Denson Walker of 156 Georgia Drive, Lot #107, Ashburn, Georgia, who departed this life on Friday, June 9, 2023 at her residence, will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 12:00 Noon from the New Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia, with the Pastor, Reverend Dr. Marvin Brown, officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mrs. Ola Mae Denson Walker, affectionately known as “Ms. Mae”, was born on December 13, 1929 in Turner County, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Gennie Sr. and Beatrice Evans Denson.

She was educated in the Turner County Public School System. Ms. Mae gave her life to Christ at a young age and joined the New Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia. She was a faithful member until illness prevented her from attending. She loved a good hymn and she loved her family. More than anything else, Ms. Mae was loved by others.

Ms. Mae worked and M&W Sportswear and as a foster grandmother for Turner County Headstart. She was also a well-known and skilled seamstress who could do wonders with a sewing machine or with needle &thread. She was blessed to see 93 years of a full life, surrounded by friends and all who cared for her. We should all be so lucky!

On June 9, 2023, Ms. Mae transitioned on up to glory to start her Heavenly mission. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gennie Denson, Sr. and Beatrice Denson, and her son, Eddie B. Walker. She leaves to mourn her passing a son, Samuel Oliver of Tampa, Florida; a daughter, Brenda Felton of Columbus, Georgia; grandchildren, Nikeal Walker, DeLaSha Felton, both of Columbus, Georgia, LaShonda (Corey) Williams of Jonesboro, Georgia, Jenny N. Oliver or Tampa, Florida, Octavia S. Brown of Warner Robins, Georgia; great grandchildren, Je'Shire D. Moore, Antonio Nelson, both of Tampa, Florida, Dellexxus Pugh of Frisco, Texas, D'Naija Williams, Khison Key, both of Columbus, Georgia, Da'Jour Walker of Ashburn, Georgia, Khodi Williams of Jonesboro, Georgia, Adrian Lytle of Warner Robins, Georgia; her brothers and sisters, Carrie Denson, Gennie (Geneva) Denson, Jr., Beatrice Louise Grady, Clarke Denson, Lula Mae Godwin, Lela May Taylor, Leon Denson, Helen Denson, all of Tampa, Florida; along with a host of great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
