Margie Sue Harris Phillips was born June 8, 1942, to the late Briver and Frances Harris in Avondale, NC. She gained her wings on June 5, 2023.

Margie attended public schools in Rutherford County. She graduated from Carver High School in Spindale, NC.

She worked in textiles and she was a faithful member of New Zion Baptist Church in Henrietta, NC.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, James Larry Phillips, her parents, Briver and Frances Harris, her daughter, Tanginette Phillips.

She is survived by three sons: James Harris (Elaine) of Virginia, Garry Harris (Annie) of Forest City, NC and Larry Phillips of Mooresboro, NC, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, three sisters, Shirley Williams (Thomas) of Forest City, NC, Jackie Herndon (James) of Lincolnton NC and Jane Harris of Caroleen, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
