Horace Bernie Culver

Horace Bernie Culver was born on October 5, 1959 in Fort Pierce, FL to the late Joann Culver-Dupuis and Horace Royal. He matriculated through public schools of Saint Lucie County ultimately attending Fort Pierce Central High School. Upon leaving high school, he furthered his studies at Indian River Community College. To support himself and family, he was an entrepreneur and master plumber for over 40 years. For the last eight years, he worked as the office manager for the Lawnwood Medical Arts Building. Horace loved his family. He loved teaching lessons about life while imparting his craft into the lives of others. Horace received numerous community awards and honors. He will definitely be remembered for one of his favorite quotes, “Put God first and let him lead you throughout the day.”

On June 10, 2023, Horace Bernie Culver peacefully departed this life. He was preceded in death by his mother: Joann Culver-Dupuis; father: Horace Royal; grandfather: Bernie Culver; grandmother: Lola Bell Kirkland-Culver.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife: Omekia Culver; son: Darcy (Sherquita) McFolley, Sr. of Fort Pierce; stepson: LaDarius O’Neal; stepdaughter: Tamekia Burks; grandchildren: Darcy “Bud” McFolley, Jr., Shaintecia Holloman, and Samya Bryant all of Fort Pierce, FL; step-granddaughter: Leia O’Neal; aunt: Willie Bell Love of Petersburg, VA; special friends: Jesse Walker, Darshan (Santosh) Agggarwal of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Domingo Aranda of Fort Pierce, FL, and Cliff of Fort Pierce, FL; and a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Memorial services for Horace Bernie Culver will convene on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Stone Brothers Funeral Home beginning at 1:00pm.
