Jefferson “Jeff” Williams, Jr. passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Piedmont Augusta Hospital.

A Balloon Release will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in front of Lucy Craft Laney Stadium. YOU ARE WELCOME TO BRING A RED, WHITE OR PURPLE BALLOON.

“Jeff” was a lifelong resident of Richmond County. He was a proud “1978” graduate of Lucy Craft Laney High School. He continued his education at Paine College graduating in 1982 with a Bachelors degree in Sociology. Jeff matriculated at the University of Georgia and after graduating with a Master of Social Work degree, he began his 33 years social worker career at Community Mental Health and eventually, retired from the Richmond County Schools after 27 years of service as a school social worker.

Jeff was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and also served on the Augusta City Classic Board.

He devoted much time and service to the CSRA youth and the community. He was a friend to all who knew him. His great big heart and outrageous sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
