Miles Nelson Veasley, Jr. was born in Jackson, MS to Miles Nelson Veasley Sr. and Mary Ann Veasley on February 4, 1974. As a child, he was introduced to the love of God when he joined Buffalo United Methodist Church. Miles was outgoing, ambitious, charming, determined, loving and affectionately known as Junior to his family and childhood friends. These attributes shaped him into the person that everyone grew to love and respect.
He graduated from Kosciusko Separate School K-12 in 1992, and then joined the United States Army where he was honored as Sergeant and served in several capacities throughout his military career. Miles then enrolled in Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC where he received his Bachelor of Arts in English in December 2001.He subsequently moved back to Mississippi to attend Mississippi State University, where he met his love Kristi Eichelberger in 2004. They later joined Griffin Chapel United Methodist Church and united in holy matrimony in 2008.
Miles commenced a long career in construction, inventory and accounting with Steel Dynamics in Columbus, MS from 2005 to 2022. During his tenure there, he received his Lena Six Sigma Black Belt certification, found his passion to become an entrepreneur and started Cardinal Vocations LLC and Z&K Services LLC.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: JB Veasley and Mamie Gregory Veasley; his maternal grandparents: Ruben Hoye, Jr. and Christine Moore Hoye.
Miles Nelson Veasley, Jr. was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, June 15, 2023, in Houston, TX. He will be forever remembered by his loving and devoted wife, Kristi Veasley; three beautiful children, Aquarius Simone Brown (Arrearn), Zion Veasley, and Kyndal Veasley; two grandchildren, Andrew Veasley and Arreyana Brown; his parents, Miles and Reverend Mary Ann Veasley; his siblings, Kimberly McCune (Frank) and Kristin Veasley, Sr. (Kenita); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors.
