Doris Oates Martin age 74 of Iron Station, North Carolina transitioned peacefully at the home of her daughter in Chevy Chase, Maryland on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

She was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina on August 23, 1949 to the late Nathaniel Mr. “Brownie” Oates and Mature Deck Oates.

Doris graduated from Newbold High School and North Carolina A&T State University. She was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. She was a retired Accountant from the United States Government.

Funeral Service is Friday, June 30, 2023 at 12 o’clock noon at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
