SPC 4 Willie Roy Richardson

Services for Willie Roy Richardson, 79, of Sarasota FL, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday July 17th, 2023, at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241. Mr. Richardson was born on April 28, 1944, in Boston GA the third of 6 sons to the late Henry and Eunice Richardson. Mr. Richardson attended. Magnolia High School and joined the United States Army in 1966 and served during the Vietnam era and served honorably for 5 years. Following his military service Mr. Richardson returned to Boston Georgia and later move to South Florida living mostly in the Palm Beach and Sarasota areas where he worked in various jobs until his retirement in Sarasota. He departed this life on Saturday July 8, 2023.

Survivors to cherish his memory include his three sisters, Mamie Williams (Robert) of Valdosta GA, Mary White (Michael) and Alice Armster both of Quitman GA; one brother Eddie Richardson (Carol) of Lake Worth FL; four sisters-in-law, Mary Richardson (John) of Boston GA, and Ruby Richardson (Henry) of Atlanta GA, Paula Richardson (James) of Fayetteville NC, Juanita Richardson (Bobby) of Boston GA and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Richardson’s family and friends will gather at the Sarasota National Cemetery at 1:00 pm and where Mr. Richardson will be honored with a military service promptly at 1:30 pm. Jones Funeral Home presiding.
