Cornelia Nadine Long, 85, of Richmond, closed her eyes and departed this life in this system of things at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday morning July 15, 2023. Cornelia was born November 22, 1937 to the late Edison Alonza Long, Sr. and Sally Ann Cooper Long of Collierstown, Virgina. In addition to her loving parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harold, Clarence and Lester Long; sisters, Zina and Pauline; nephews, Aaron and Brian Long; sisters-in-law, Gillie and Barbra Long and brothers-in-law, Lindsey White, Sr. and Raymond Kenney. Cornelia was baptized as one of Jehovah's Christian Witnesses in July 1958 at the Divine Will International Assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses Yankee Stadium New York City, New York. She shared in the preaching of the Good News of God's Kingdom until she fell and could not go door to door. She joined in the virtual preaching work on Zoom due to the pandemic. She loved talking about Jehovah to all she encountered. Cornelia retired from C&P Telephone Company. She leaves behind three special loving sons that stayed by her side taking the best care of her; Charles (Birdie), Richard (Shelia) and Walter (Roslyn); grandsons, Fred, Antoine and Charles Parham, Jr.; grand daughters, Sakeesta Jackson and Chemere Parham; great grands, Kevon, Knaleek, Khaniya, Marqusha, Juanya and Tyasia; loving siblings, William E. Long, Sr., Ruby Long White, Edison Long, Jr. (Arlene) and Fred Long, Sr. (Alatha); maternal aunt, Ophelia Payne of Lexington, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2801 Mechanicsville Turnpike. Arrangements by Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E Brookland Park Blvd.
