OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Alvin Freeman, 85, who entered eternal rest on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Calcutta House in Lafayette, LA.

Fr. Jude Thierry will be officiating the funeral mass.

Mr. Freeman was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver.

Mr. Freeman’s memories are being cherished by: two sons, Michael (Stacey) Freeman of Opelousas, LA and Larry (Carol) Rosette of Plaisance, LA; one daughter, Cindy Forbes of Houston, TX; one sister, Willie Mae Guillory of Plaisance, LA; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his wife, Rose Burleigh Freeman; his parents, Wilson and Rose Sam Freeman; his daughter, Monica Freeman; two brothers, Chester Freeman and Wilfred Freeman; four sisters, Velma Malveaux, Eula Babineaux, Ollie Young and Elvina Washington; and one grandson, Brandon Forbes.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
