Katrenia Dubose

Passed 07/08/2023

Katrenia Natarsha McCoy Stephens DuBose was born on July 5, 1971. She lived a passionate life and was an amazing woman. The unique adversity she battled throughout her life gave her the strength to spread light to others. She was a loving and caring mother to her three children. Her family extended far beyond blood relatives as she touched many lives during her short time here on Earth.

She frequently reminded herself, as well as others, to keep hope and faith that things will work out for the better. She believed that everyone was capable of being, and had a reason to be, LOVED. Her presence forced those around her to strive for excellence, and her relationship with God is what pushed her to be her best self. That same relationship with God also allowed her to focus on the things she could control and not worry about the things that were outside of her control. She often bragged about her relationship with God, and there was nothing that could separate her from the Lord.

In addition to being a God-fearing woman, she was passionate about her profession and helping others through proper nutrition. Katrenia received her B.S. degree from The University of Florida, majoring in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a specialty in Dietetics. Katrenia was a Licensed Nutritionist by the State of Florida and a Registered Dietitian by the American Dietetic Association's Commission on Dietetic Registration. She was the CEO of DuBose & Associates Nutrition Management Company, which was located in Sarasota where she formulated weight management programs and nutrition plans for Doctors Hospital, The Pines of Sarasota, various long-term care facilities, private individuals, Children First and other preschool and early head start programs.

Katrenia lived on the Gulf Coast for more than 20 vears and was verv active in the community. She donated her time to Shape Up Sarasota, The Newtown Wellness Program, American Cancer Societ, Butterflies and Dreams Book Club (which promotes a children's community reading and scholarship program), Sarasota Count Schools Food and Nutrition Services Department and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

We would like to thank you for being a part of Katrenia's journey. On July 8th, 2023 our mother departed this Earth to send us love from the "Land of the Lord." Although physically absent, the love she shared through the love of God is something that will continue to be passed down through generations.

Katrenia leaves her love and memories to her children Leah Kenned McCov DuBose, Noah Kaleb Wiley DuBose, Brian Gerrod Warren (granddaughter Savannah Grace Warren), her great aunt Ethel Williams, her uncle Jerome McCoy, a host of loving and faithful cousins and family members, Divas of Delta Sigma Theta Sororitv, Incorporated and a supporting cast of many friends.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, July 22, at 11 AM at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.
