Funeral services for Carnell Jackson, 85, of Opelika, AL, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 201 South 4th Street, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Gardens Hill Cemetery, Reverend Anthony Pogue will officiate.

Mr. Jackson, who passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023 in New Orleans, LA, was born July 22, 1937 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Monday, July 24, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Jackson will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Ricky (Deborah) Jackson, Jeffery (Candance) Jackson, Angelia Smith, Cherry Calloway and Andrya Johnson all of Opelika, AL; twelve grandchildren, Andre Crump, Carnell (Lynne) Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Brandon Morgan, Jamel (Kelsey) Smith, Cameron Jackson, Chance Jackson, Jeffrey Jackson, Miyah Jackson, Kennedi Jackson, Austin Jackson, and Audrey (Ryan) Johnson; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Bernice Jackson of Los Angeles, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
