Missionary Ruby T Freeman

Missionary Ruby Theresa Freeman was born July 20, 1937, to the late Shepeard O’Neal Freeman and Clara Mae Faison Freeman in Wewahitchka, Florida. She attended public school in Gulf County later moving to Panama City, Florida, and attended the public schools of Bay County.

Ruby accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ staying steadfast and prayerful for and to all whom she encountered on life’s journey. Ruby was a homemaker, making sure that her children and grandchildren were always well-cared for. Ruby was a powerful, praying woman who those near and far called upon in their deepest darkest despair.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Freeman and Donald Freeman; and two sisters, Eunice Patton and Victoria Freeman. Ruby birthed nine beautiful children and was preceded in death by one, Mitchell C. Freeman.

She is survived by Cynthia A. Grimes, Deborah E. Andrews (Harry), Tony L. Freeman (Elnior), Ray A. Davis (Peggy), Pamela Middleton (Kenneth), Lee F. Givens, Barbara A. Givens, and Gerald B. Givens; four sisters, Mrs. Pearly Mae Harris of Port St. Joe, Florida, Mrs. Lucille Johnson (Doug) of Wewahitchka, Florida, Mrs. Johnnie Hines of Wewahitchka, Florida, and Mrs. Mary Ann Dixon of Panama City, Florida; special nephew, Mr. Harold Patton of Panama City, Florida; she was blessed to have 17 grandchildren, Michael Woods (Chalanda), Walter Woods (Sharika), Shawnetta Johnson (Dave), Chermaine Watford (Timothy), Mitchell Freeman, Jr. (Octavia), Donald Mitchell (Lindsey), Pamela Kelly (Galen), Delois Shivers (Corey), Kenneth Middleton (Luella), Aiesha Givens, Kenyata Freeman, Jacques Givens, Jhonte Givens (Jocelynn), Talesa Walker (Damon), Chanavia Givens, Taqera Ming, and Na’jee Moore; 46 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Home going services for Missionary Ruby T. Freeman will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 1:00 PM CST at Carter’s Temple First Born Church located at 308 Williamsburg Road in Wewahitchka, FL. Interment will follow in the Williamsburg Cemetery in Wewa with the caring staff of Battle Mortuary of Panama City, FL directing. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00 noon until funeral time at 1:00 PM.

Public viewing and visitation will be held on Friday August 11, 2023, at Battle Mortuary in Panama City, FL from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM
