Mr. James Ball, Jr. age 82, of Norlina, departed this life Sunday, July 30,2023 at Duke University Hospital.

A celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, August 12,2023 at 2:00pm, in the sanctuary of Cooks Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 219 Cooks Chapel Road, Warrenton, NC 27589. The Reverend Dr. Tony W. Cozart will officiate and Reverend Dr. Elmore E. Warren, Jr. will deliver eulogy.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his children, James Bryant of Louisburg, NC, Ivan Ball of Norlina, NC, Carla Ball (William) of Durham, NC, Nikia Ball (Gina) of Greensboro, NC and Jazmine Ball of Raleigh, NC; two sister, Myrtice B. Warren (Dr. Elmore E. Jr.) of Windsor Mills, MD, and Geraldine Hawkins of Henderson, NC; one sister-in-law, Martha Ball of San Diego, CA; two aunts, Retha Ball of Manson, NC and Deborah Campbell of Norlina, NC; six grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; four dedicated nieces, Lisa Tarry Carter, Jonzetta Valentine, Kareema Bown and Iman Williams ; special nephews, Ron Tarry, Anthony Tarry , Jonathan Reid and Justin Reid; along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Mr. Ball may be viewed on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm at Boyd & Royster Funeral Service.
