Paula Metz-Clark

Passed 07/28/2023

Paula Jane Metz-Clark was born to the late George Wilson Sr. and Iola Unger in Harrisburg, PA and passed into eternal rest July 28, 2023.

Paula was the youngest of 7 siblings and received her formal education from the Harrisburg School District. Paula retired after 20 years of exemplary service from Rite Aid. Paula met and later married her husband, Leonard Clark in 1968, to this union they had 4 children, Mabel Clark, Ronald Metz Jr., Karen Metz and Donna Gordon, all of Harrisburg, PA. Paula could never turn her head away from anyone in need especially children, it just wasn’t who she was. Because of her love for others, Paula became a mother figure to many children in her neighborhood, she raised them as her own children and showered them with the same love and affection needed to succeed just as she did with her own children. It was this selfless act of love that earned her a special place in their hearts. Paula was an avid reader, she enjoyed books in her leisure time. She also enjoyed listening to music and doing puzzles, of which Word Searches were her favorites. However, her biggest joy was a great cup of hot coffee in the morning! She even showed her grandchildren how to prepare and set the timer on the coffee pot to have it ready for her in the morning!

Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Clark; her father, George Wilson Sr.; her mother, Iola Unger and her grandson, Sean M. Gordon and leaves to cherish precious memories of her; her 4 children, Mabel Clark, Ronald Metz, Jr., Karen Metz and Donna Gordon (Johnny); her 3 grandchildren, David Gordon (Jade), Christina Jimenez (David), Jasmine Green (Jered, Sr.); her 2 great-grandchildren, Selena Jimenez and Jered Green, Jr., all of Harrisburg, PA.

Paula was very excited and couldn’t wait to welcome her third great-grandchild expected to arrive in October 2023.

Her life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023 in the Sanctuary of New Life Christian Church, 120 S. 27th Street, Harrisburg with visitation at 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
