Mr. Billy D. Blount, 83, formerly of Gadsden passed away on August 3, 2023. He is survived by his family. We ask that you keep this family in your hearts and prayers during their time of bereavement.

Obituary

Mr. Billy Dean Blount was born on January 28, 1940 in St. Clair County, Alabama to the late Mr. Ellis Blount and Mrs. Mamie Blount and to this union four children were born.

He was educated in the Attalla School System and attended Norris High School.

He loved to garden, wash cars, and was very devoted to his family and was admired by all of his friends and loved ones and will truly be missed.

He was employed with Pollock Motors for many years.

Billy was preceded in death by both parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ellis Blount; Wife, Mrs. Betty Blount; Brothers, Joe Louis Blount and Ellis Blount Jr.

He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories to: His two sons, Anthony (Misty) Blount and Michael Bernard Blount of Gadsden, AL; Daughters, Pricilla Blount, Valeria Blount, both of Gadsden, AL and Tasha Pope (Zach) Merisier of Tampa, FL; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and two bonus grandchildren, Augenee Guice and Aziyah Glass; Sister, Ann Ashe; Brother, Henry Blount; Two Sister-in-laws, Mrs. Loretta Blount and Mrs. Betty Sue Blount, both of Gadsden, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be Friday, August 11, 2023 from12noon-6pm.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 1:00pm at the Mission Baptist Church. Eulogist: Pastor Melvin Guyton. Interment: Rainbow Memorial Garden.
