Mr. Willie Fred King well known as “PK” & “Papa King” of Fort Valley, GA. passed on Sunday July 30, 2023.
Mr. Willie Fred King, more affectionately known as “P.K.” and “Papa King," was born on March 10, 1949 to the late Mrs. Margie Hammock King Anderson and the late Mr. Alton King in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. He attended public school in the Upson County School System.
Papa King was well-trained plumber. He was very skillful and had the ability to learn things very quickly. He performed many home repairs throughout the Thomaston and Upson County area. After moving to Butler, GA, he worked for MFH Textiles for several years. He continued doing home repairs; worked on the Golf Course; and, for several years, he worked for the Taylor County Board of Education in the transportation department.
During his leisure time, he enjoyed going to the golf course, working and helping others, socializing with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brother, Edward King and Willie Bill King: one sister, Gloria Jean King: several aunts and an uncle. On Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the Fort Valley Rehab, the Lord called his name. He answered the call and went home to eternal rest.
Papa King leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Ms. Shirley King of Miami, FL; Four brothers, Mr. Lawrence King and Mr. Ronnie King of Cincinnati, OH, Mr. Nicholas King of Florence, KY, and Mr. Jean Chancey of Columbus, OH; aunts and uncles, Mrs. Lucille Gray of Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Betty Snipes and Mrs. Doris Hammock both of Thomaston, GA, Mr. Eugene Hammock and Mr. Charles Hammock both of Detroit, MI; Devoted family friends, Mrs. Bonnie Brannin of Reynolds, GA; the Harrell Family of Reynolds, GA: other friends, Ms., Janice Chubbuck and Ms. Olivia Flanagan both of Reynolds, GA: and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends,
