Obituary For Ms. Rosie Durham Furlow

Ms. Rosie Mae Durham Furlow was born April 11, 1946, in Thomaston, Upson County Georgia to the parentage of the late John Durham Sr. and the late Alma Dikes Durham. She was educated in the school system of Upson County.

At an early age, she joined Pine Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending church and community events. She offered a servant's heart by caring for those in need as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Additionally, she was compassionate, supportive, and encouraging to all whom she knew.

Prior to her illness, she enjoyed traveling and attending the Rainbow Club of Thomaston, Georgia. She loved cooking and knowing that her family enjoyed the meals which she prepared. She absolutely loved her grand-children and great-grandchildren. hearing about their accomplishments and sharing their life events was the highlight of her day. Anyone who knew her, knew about her grandchildren and their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Durham Jr. and Jessie Durham; and sister, Willie Maude Cunningham. On Tuesday August 1, 2023, Rosie went to rest from a life of devotion and labor.

Rosie leaves behind to treasure her memories five children; Randy (Phyllis) Durham of Forsyth, GA.; Rachel Durham of Atlanta, GA; Sharon Hicks of Warner Robins, GA; Eric (Lisa) Hicks of Forsyth, GA and Erica Caslin of Barnesville, GA; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
